The Pantone Color Matching System is a standardized color reproduction system based on the Pantone Guide that asigns a code to each color (there are 3026 colours!). By standardizing colors, different manufacturers in different locations can query the Pantone Guide to ensure that colors match without direct contact with each other when printing a design piece.
